About the Role
We’re looking for an   experienced whole animal butcher—someone who has already honed their skills in breaking down beef, pork, lamb, and poultry, and who shares our commitment to quality, respect for the animal, and building a warm, welcoming environment for every customer.   This is not an entry-level role;   we are seeking a craftsperson who thrives in both precision work and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Break down whole animals into retail cuts with skill, speed, and efficiency.
• Trim, portion, and package meat for display and sale according to store standards.
• Maintain a pristine, food-safe workspace at all times.
• Provide exceptional, personalized customer service—offering cooking advice, product recommendations, and education on cuts and sourcing.
• Merchandise and restock display cases for optimal visual appeal and product rotation.
• Collaborate with team members on seasonal specials and merchandising ideas.
• Uphold our sourcing standards and communicate our values to customers with enthusiasm and authenticity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional whole animal butchery experience. This is not an entry level position. Only those with previous dedicated butcher experience apply!
• Understanding of meat anatomy, cutting techniques, yield management, and knife safety.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine love for connecting with customers.
• Commitment to sustainable, ethical, and respectful use of every part of the animal.
• Ability to work efficiently, maintain high quality, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in cold environments.
