Job Description

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Pulmonologist to join our growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of respiratory and pulmonary disorders, including asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, and sleep-related breathing disorders. This is a unique opportunity to work in a supportive, low-stress outpatient environment with flexible scheduling and the option to participate in research or develop a private practice alongside our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, tuberculosis, lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, and sleep apnea
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations, including history-taking, physical exams, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as PFTs, chest X-rays, and CT scans
  • Manage chronic respiratory illnesses with appropriate medical therapy (e.g., bronchodilators, corticosteroids, oxygen therapy)
  • Perform procedures including bronchoscopy and thoracentesis for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes
  • Provide acute care for patients with respiratory distress or requiring ICU-level interventions such as intubation and mechanical ventilation
  • Offer preventive care and smoking cessation counseling to help patients reduce the risk of lung disease
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists (e.g., oncologists, cardiologists), and respiratory therapists to deliver coordinated care
  • Educate patients on disease management strategies, medication use, and lifestyle modifications for improved pulmonary health
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide urgent or emergency consults as needed
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Stay current on advancements in pulmonary medicine through ongoing professional development
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, or training to medical staff or trainees when applicable

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary Medicine
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Arizona
  • Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and treating pulmonary conditions
  • Proficiency in interpreting imaging and pulmonary function tests
  • Skilled in bronchoscopy and other relevant pulmonary procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered, team-based care
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship training or experience in pulmonary hypertension, interventional pulmonology, or sleep medicine
  • Background in ICU/critical care pulmonology (preferred)
  • Knowledge of current advancements in pulmonary medicine and emerging therapies
  • Multilingual skills (preferred based on patient demographics)

  • Schedule : Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (last patient scheduled at 4:15 PM)
