Job Description

Optomi, in partnership with a premier client in the telecommunications industry, is seeking a Principal/Lead Product Designer to join their growing digital organization. This is a high-visibility opportunity to help shape the customer experience transformation, build new ecommerce platforms, and contribute to the launch of an innovation lab focused on next-gen AI, logistics, and in-store experiences.

Logistics:

• Location: Dallas, TX (onsite, 5 days per week)
• Contract-to-hire: 3–6 months with strong intent to convert

What You Will Do:

• Serve as the third design hire on a small, highly impactful team driving digital transformation
• Contribute to building an innovation lab, including a physical mock retail store, customer/agent test environments, and AI-driven platforms
• Partner closely with business and technology leaders to design across web, app, kiosk, and commerce channels
• Lead design workshops, create journey maps, and prototype/test solutions using tools like UserZoom
• Present case studies and design artifacts that demonstrate problem definition, solutioning, and measurable impact
• Drive forward both ecommerce and in-store customer experience initiatives that influence millions of customers

The Right Candidate Will Have:

• 8+ years of professional design experience, including work in both enterprise and agency settings
• Experience at the Principal or Lead Designer level with proven ability to work autonomously in high-visibility roles
• Strength as a generalist with expertise in visual design, service design, and prototyping
• High business acumen and EQ, with the ability to bridge design thinking and business strategy
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops, lead testing, and communicate design outcomes with clarity
• A track record of impactful design within large enterprise teams and transformation efforts
• A strong, well-rounded portfolio that clearly demonstrates design process, problem-solving, and business impact
• Craft skills with high attention to detail, ensuring strong visual design and polished deliverables
