Gifted Potentials is seeking a reliable and encouraging Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a part-time Community Participation Support (CPS) case in Media, PA .

It is preferred that the DSP lives in Media or the immediate surrounding area . This role supports a shy adult male with developmental disabilities by promoting community inclusion, employment exploration, daily structure, and personal empowerment.

Due to the participant’s communication and support preferences, a calm and dependable male DSP age 28 or older is preferred.

Schedule

• Flexible weekday availability
• Part-time role: 12 hours per week (no more at this time)
• Start time: To Be Announced (TBA) Final schedule to be coordinated with the care team
  

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized CPS support in the community
• Support employment goals in partnership with a Job Coach (OVR)
• Assist with outings to stores, recreation centers, and structured public settings
• Use short, clear communication and visual prompts as needed
• Model and reinforce independence in grooming, hygiene, and social interaction
• Support money-handling skills and basic budgeting awareness
• Foster decision-making, confidence, and self-advocacy
• Maintain dignity, safety, and inclusion at all times
• Use person-centered and trauma-informed approaches
• Document services accurately and on time Communicate with the supervisor and care team to ensure consistency
  

Requirements

• Availability for scheduled hours
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Prior DSP, CNA, or direct-care experience preferred
• Experience supporting individuals with communication differences or learning challenges
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be calm, clear, and supportive Understanding of HCBS standards, person-centered supports, and HIPAA
