Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated attorney with at least 5 years of experience in business litigation to handle complex cases from inception through resolution. The successful candidate will excel in drafting legal documents, conducting research, drafting discovery, conducting depositions, and assisting at trial, while thriving in a collaborative, in-office environment. This position is ideal for someone eager to take on increasing responsibilities, including court appearances, trials, and appeals, as their career progresses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage business litigation cases, including contract disputes, commercial conflicts, and corporate matters.
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and provide analytical insights to support case strategies.
  • Take and defend depositions, including client preparation.
  • Assist in trial preparation and participate in courtroom proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  • Learn and oversee written discovery processes, including interrogatories, depositions, and document production.
  • Appear in court for motions, trials, and appeals as experience grows, with mentorship provided.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and staff to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
  • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Missouri Bar (or eligibility to waive in).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business litigation.
  • Proven expertise in drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with a track record of high-quality work.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Experience attending court appearances and assisting at trial.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, in-office setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines.
