Team Teaching Maths

Model Lessons Taught Together

We’ve trained more than 5000 teachers across the UK and over 1000 teachers abroad. When it comes to Maths CPD, we often get told that our sessions were inspirational, but sometimes we all need to be inspired in the classroom and pick up on good practice. That’s where our team teaching comes in use…
  • KS2 Maths Lessons
  • Bar Modelling
  • Maths Mastery
  • Visualisation
  • Problem-Solving
  • Topic Mastery
“We were so impressed that we would like you to come in for two additional twilight sessions & team teach in our school…”
Mark Ellis
Maths Lead
Devonshire Hill Primary

A Typical Team Teaching Booking

We recommend schools book team teaching days (half-days) in multiples of 2s.

Here is a short overview of what a two-day booking would look like.
First Day – Assessment
Meet all the classes
(Maximum 3)
Fix the topics for team teaching with the class teachers
Observe and team teach with the class teacher leading the lessons (where possible)
Speak to individual pupils & understand the level of the class
Summarise and plan the team teaching lessons
Lead Team Teaching (Day 2)
Lead teaching with the class teachers supporting each of the lessons
Discuss with the class teacher how the lesson went and what went well as well as what we would change and why
Short meeting with Maths Lead or Headteacher to outline the impact of the last two days
Post Team Teaching Summary
After the team teaching days, we will compile our notes and send a report to the Maths Lead and/or Headteacher along with any additional resources that teachers requested.
A Message From Mohi

Why Team Teaching?

With our team teaching sessions, your staff and children get to see topics being modelled in an actual lesson with a class or a small group. This gives teachers plenty of ideas and first-hand experience of how a lesson can be delivered using maths mastery techniques including bar modelling and other visuals and manipulatives.

What to expect…

Outstanding Questioning

One of the many challenges when teaching is developing the habit of great questioning in the classroom. With our team teaching sessions, your teachers will get to see what impact outstanding questions have on learners.

Visualisation

Visualisation, or seeing maths makes a world of difference to many learners. Do you teach so your children see mathematical structures? So they can see maths being developed? So they can articulate what is happening and WHY we do something?
WHAT Teachers SAY about our team teaching

“Thank you very much for all of your support and for the additional resources.

Your sessions were very helpful, particularly the debriefs with Headteacher – Nicola…
& feedback from staff was positive!”

We know how it feels when you’ve completed one of our training sessions. You have so many ideas and want to try to implement them straight away but, often, when we lack experience, we can sometimes make mistakes and we then lose confidence and are unsure of ourselves.
