Job Title: Onsite Commercial Roofing Superintendent

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: DFW Metroplex

Reports To: Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Onsite Commercial Roofing Superintendent to oversee all aspects of commercial roofing projects at various job sites. The Roofing Superintendent will manage daily operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain a safe work environment while meeting project deadlines and budget requirements. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in commercial roofing systems, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced, onsite setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Supervise all onsite roofing activities, including installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial roofing systems (e.g., TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, metal roofing, etc.).
  • Crew Management: Lead and direct roofing crews, subcontractors, and other onsite personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure all workers use proper PPE and follow safe practices.
  • Quality Control: Inspect work in progress and completed tasks to ensure compliance with blueprints, specifications, and industry standards. Address any deficiencies promptly.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries to maintain project timelines. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate weather conditions or unforeseen delays.
  • Material Management: Monitor inventory of roofing materials and tools onsite, ensuring proper usage and minimizing waste. Report material needs to the Project Manager.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for project stakeholders, including the Project Manager, clients, inspectors, and vendors. Provide regular progress updates and address concerns.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve onsite issues, such as equipment malfunctions, personnel conflicts, or scope changes, in a timely manner.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs, including work performed, manpower, weather conditions, and any incidents or delays. Submit reports as required.
  • Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial roofing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Extensive understanding of commercial roofing systems, installation techniques, and waterproofing methods. Familiarity with roofing manufacturers’ specifications (e.g., GAF, Firestone, Carlisle).
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred. Manufacturer-specific training or roofing certifications (e.g., NRCA ProCertification) a plus.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans.
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) is a plus.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional coursework or training in construction management, roofing technology, or a related field preferred.

  • Working Conditions: This is a field-based position requiring daily presence at construction sites.
