Job Description

About us

Handoff is the AI agent that runs a construction company. We help remodelers automate estimating, streamline operations, and win more work—backed by real-time cost data, intuitive design, and workflows that “speak contractor.” With over 10,000 monthly active users and $6B in annualized project volume already flowing through our platform, we’re becoming the trusted partner for the people who build our homes.

We are backed by $25M+ raised from Y Combinator, Sequoia, Initialized, and Greycroft. Our team is distributed across hubs in Austin, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires, and we are deeply focused on building intuitive, high-impact solutions that make a real difference for our users.

About the role

As a Senior Product Designer at Handoff, you’ll drive the end-to-end design of our B2B SaaS platform. We're looking for a strong generalist who is comfortable moving between user research, product thinking, interaction design, and visual polish. You will take broad, complex ideas and turn them into simple, intuitive experiences across web and mobile – from initial research and wire-framing through high-fidelity UI design and handoff to developers.

This is a highly autonomous role – we’re looking for someone who can thrive with a lot of ownership and minimal direction, proactively identifying design problems and championing solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers, influencing product strategy and ensuring our design system and user experience are world-class.

What you'll do

  • Own the design process from start to finish: user research, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and developer-ready assets.
  • Leverage AI tools and techniques to scale design work, boost efficiency, and contribute to improving our overall design processes.
  • Build, refine, and maintain Handoff’s design system and component library, ensuring consistency across platforms.
  • Simplify complex user workflows into intuitive, efficient experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with PMs and engineers to define product requirements and iterate on solutions.
  • Bring a strategic perspective to design challenges, considering user experience, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Lead by example: contribute to a high standard of design quality through peer reviews and sharing best practices.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 6+ years of experience designing successful web and mobile products, preferably for B2B SaaS.
  • Proven track record building and evolving design systems at scale.
  • Strong skills designing cross-platform experiences (responsive web + mobile).
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design, systems thinking, and simplifying complex flows.
  • Ability to collaborate strategically with product and engineering partners.
  • Comfort with technical discussions - you can speak the language of developers without needing to code.
  • High autonomy, proactive problem-solving, and clear communication.
  • Fluency with Figma and modern product design workflows.

How we work

  • Principle-driven: Our design team follows Handoff’s design principles and handbook.
  • High ownership: Designers are trusted with major initiatives and given freedom to make impactful decisions.
  • Collaborative & open: Tight feedback loops with PMs, engineers, and leadership.
  • User-focused & iterative: We ship, learn, and improve based on real user feedback.

What we offer

  • Competitive Salary + Equity
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401(k)
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Life & Disability Insurance
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Dependent Care FSA (DC FSA)
  • Relocation Allowance
  • Top-Notch Equipment - Choose your laptop!
  • Team Offsites Around the World – In 2024, we gathered in Poland, Mexico, and Florida - where to next?

If you are passionate about building exceptional user experiences and want to be part of a team that values product impact and technical excellence, we’d love to hear from you!
