Opportunity

Skybound is looking for a Senior Cinematic Animator to work on the heroic moments of Invincible VS that evoke emotion and inspire players! The Senior Cinematic Animator will deliver personality, authenticity, and style that shifts seamlessly between responsive gameplay and memorable moments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about combat focused animation with an eye for appeal and polish.

As a Senior Cinematic Animator, you will animate stylized characters in pose driven animations while upholding our standards and pipelines. Every line delivery, punch, kick, and impact you create will tell a story. You will work collaboratively with cross functional teams to ensure that your characters perform flawlessly, look amazing, deliver raw emotion and impactful experiences!

Reports: This position will report to the Animation Director

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Drive animation of characters and cameras to create in-engine cinematics from layout to final polish, utilizing advanced keyframe techniques to craft bold, expressive, and high-energy sequences that deliver strong poses and maximum impact
• Collaborate closely with gameplay animation, design and art to achieve clear, in-character, and responsive animations that deliver every impact, reaction and nuance to the player
• Partner with technical artists and engineers to ensure characters look as great in-game as on your desktop
• Team up with other members of the animation team to create consistent work and share inspiration
• Contribute to pipeline and workflow improvements, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance creative output

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as an animator in the games industry, with a proven track record of delivering cinematic character animation at a senior level
• Exceptional portfolio showcasing mastery of keyframe animation, cinematography, and dramatic staging – particularly in combat and high-energy scenarios
• Expert ability to collaborate with designers, artists, and technical teams in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Self-motivated, innovative problem solver who thrives on creative challenges and technical complexity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced proficiency with Unreal Engine 4/5
• Deep experience with character combat animation and gameplay
• Proficient in the use of Maya
• Passion for video game development, combat-focused games, and Skybound IP

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000

• Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc.
• The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees
• Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role
