Job Description

A family office real estate company located in Beverly Hills is looking for a new Real Estate Financial Controller. This Candidate will play an integral role in the growing family office, and work directly with A/P, A/R, managers, as well as other departments, playing a critical role in managing the accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting the strategic objectives of the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prepare and monitor budgets to develop financial goals.
  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed asset management.
  • Ensure efficient processes for month-end and year-end close procedures.
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and compliance.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, profitability assessments, cost-reduction initiatives, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Partner with senior management to identify opportunities for financial growth and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in a managerial role within a real estate setting.
  • Proficient in AppFolio software, and advanced Excel skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, drive efficiency, and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Collaborative and team player attitude

Compensation: $125,000 - $140,000

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
