Job Description

About the Company

Our client is pioneering next-generation chip-scale quantum devices, with a focus on advancing Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems. These systems are built to operate with resilience and precision, even in GPS-denied environments. At the intersection of quantum physics, high-precision manufacturing, and systems engineering, their work supports national security, infrastructure, and the future of quantum-enabled technologies. With strong backing from top-tier deep-tech investors and U.S. government agencies, the company is entering a phase of rapid growth and is seeking exceptional talent to support its mission.

Position Overview

We’re looking for an experienced RF & Analog Electronics Engineer to lead the development of ultra-low-noise, high-precision, mixed-signal electronics at the core of compact quantum devices. This is a deeply technical and hands-on role, contributing directly to the architecture and performance of novel sensing platforms. The engineer will collaborate across optics, vacuum, and quantum teams to co-develop integrated systems ready for real-world deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and characterize low-noise analog circuits: amplifiers, filters, PID controllers, voltage/current regulators
  • Develop and optimize precision signal chains for quantum sensor platforms
  • Design RF/microwave systems: synthesizers, PLLs, modulators, impedance-matched front-ends (3–4 GHz)
  • Execute high-frequency, low-noise PCB layout and multilayer board design
  • Collaborate with optical and systems engineers to co-design electronics with lasers, detectors, and MEMS packaging
  • Build, test, and iterate using lab tools (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, lock-in amps, VNAs, Allan deviation analyzers)
  • Develop automated test systems for performance validation and long-term data capture
  • Support compliance and mitigation for EMI/EMC under aerospace and defense standards

Core Technical Focus Areas

Analog & Mixed-Signal Design

  • Low-noise analog signal conditioning
  • PID control loop design and implementation
  • Integration of ADCs/DACs into high-precision systems
  • Power regulation and current driving circuits for sensitive components

RF & Microwave Systems

  • Design of compact, low-power synthesizers (3–5 GHz)
  • Signal integrity, impedance matching, and board-level RF performance

System-Level Integration

  • PCB layout experience with Altium or KiCad
  • Co-development with photonic systems and vacuum-integrated hardware
  • Simulation tools: LTspice, ADS, HFSS, etc.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git/GitLab)
  • Python scripting for automation and test infrastructure

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

  • Background in atomic physics (e.g., rubidium/cesium transitions)
  • Exposure to MEMS, vacuum systems, or optoelectronic packaging
  • Prior work in defense, aerospace, or other high-reliability applications
  • Experience with digital signal processing or embedded firmware
  • Knowledge of DFM for scaling into production

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Passionate about building high-performance hardware that works in the field
  • Precision- and detail-oriented, with strong hands-on debugging and prototyping skills
  • Enjoys working across disciplines and learning from adjacent technical areas
  • Motivated by impactful work at the forefront of emerging technology
