Project Manager –Contract Tariff Compliance and Implementation

Our client is a multi-billion-dollar publicly held organization committed to operational excellence and innovation. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Management Professional (PMP) to drive the success of all tariff-focused projects. This role will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and optimizing business processes related to tariffs across global supply chains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tariff Project Leadership: Lead, plan, and execute tariff-related projects, including compliance initiatives, tariff classification reviews, duty optimization strategies, and government audits.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams such as legal, supply chain, finance, and government affairs to align project objectives with organizational goals.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop project roadmaps, timelines, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to tariff structures, global trade regulations, and customs compliance. Establish protocols for addressing changes in tariffs or trade policies.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools to monitor the financial impact of tariffs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and generate KPI reports throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Change Management: Drive the adoption of new processes or systems related to tariff compliance, ensuring consistency and engagement across global teams.
  • Technology Integration: Ensure seamless integration of ERP systems, trade compliance software, and relevant technologies to enhance efficiency in managing tariff projects.
  • Communication: Provide regular updates to leadership teams and stakeholders regarding project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Stay updated on international trade laws, tariff modifications, customs regulations, and industry best practices to ensure full compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required. Additional certifications such as Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), PMI-ACP (Agile), or PRINCE2 preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) are a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience successfully managing complex projects in global organizations.
  • Experience in tariff compliance, international trade, or customs-related projects is highly desirable but not required.
  • Skills:
  • Expertise in agile project management frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and trade compliance management systems.
  • Ability to manage large-scale cross-border regulatory initiatives with high-level attention to detail.
