Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift (Injection Molding)

A well-established, non-automotive, non-union, profitable manufacturer is seeking a Production Supervisor to work second shift and lead a team of employees to meet daily production goals. This position will report to the Manufacturing Manager and will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Meeting and tracking production requirements and metrics
• Training, coaching, mentoring and evaluating the hourly workforce
• Ensuring shift safety, quality and delivery goals are met
• Assisting with identifying process improvements
• Leading the shift start-up meeting
• Following the production schedule and making modifications as needed
• Reviewing and confirming shift paperwork and production numbers
• Communicating with 1st and 3rd shift production supervisors at shift change
• Confirming time sheets, vacation and time off within the timekeeping system
• Conducting reviews and disciplinary action as needed
• Ensuring that training is completed for new and current staff
• Other duties as directed by management

This is a second shift position; candidates need to be willing to work second shift long-term. Hours are 2 p.m. to 10:30 p a.m. Candidates should be able to handle high-pressure, fast-paced environments and be able to hold others accountable. Candidates will be on the manufacturing floor 85% of the day and will share an open office with others!

REQUIREMENTS for the Production Supervisor:

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED

2. At least two years in a similar supervision role

3. Experience working in injection or blow molding environments

4. Experience overseeing at least 10 employees

5. Experience conducting disciplinary actions and writing employee reviews

6. Willingness to work the second shift long term

7. Basic Microsoft Office skills

Skills preferred but NOT required:

1. Non-union supervision

2. Continuous improvement initiatives

3. ERP experience

4. Payroll software
