Practice Administrator – High-Volume Gastroenterology Practice

Arlington, VA

A well-established, high-volume, multi-location Gastroenterology practice in Arlington, VA is seeking an experienced Practice Administrator to lead operations. This is a fast-paced environment that requires exceptional organizational, financial, and leadership skills. QuickBooks experience is an absolute requirement for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership in business planning and continuous improvement of administrative processes.
  • Manage daily financial operations, including QuickBooks-based accounting, budgeting, expense monitoring, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee billing and collections to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise office administrative staff to support a large-volume patient base.
  • Monitor healthcare and patient care practices for compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison with insurance companies, government agencies, and other external partners.
  • Develop and implement service delivery improvement plans tailored to a high-volume specialty practice.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, policies, and records.
  • Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes impacting practice administration.
  • Perform other administrative and operational duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an office manager or administrator in a healthcare setting (specialty practice experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (non-negotiable).
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of medical billing and coding (CPT, ICD-10).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and MACRA.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to manage operations in a high-volume, fast-paced medical practice environment.
