Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations for modular construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful coordination, execution, and completion of assigned projects within budget, scope, and timeline while maintaining high-quality standards and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight & Coordination

• Serve as the on-site leader for assigned modular construction projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors.
• Manage daily operations of job sites including scheduling, crew management, and task prioritization.
• Conduct daily jobsite walks to monitor safety, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure all installations and assemblies comply with modular design specifications and construction codes.

Modular Installation Management

• Supervise and manage craning, setting, and anchoring of modular units.
• Verify structural alignment and connections (roof-to-roof, floor-to-floor).
• Coordinate utility connections (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) with trade partners.
• Troubleshoot issues related to unit connections, elevation, and system integrations.

Quality & Compliance

• Enforce compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Conduct inspections at critical milestones (e.g., set day, finish work, punch list).
• Collaborate with QA/QC personnel to ensure workmanship meets company standards.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and progress reports.

Safety Leadership

• Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans.
• Lead daily safety meetings and ensure crew compliance with OSHA standards.
• Maintain clean and secure work sites in accordance with best practices.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

• Serve as a primary point of contact for site-based client interactions.
• Provide daily or weekly updates to internal stakeholders.
• Support final walkthroughs and project closeout activities.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Foreman, preferably with modular or offsite construction experience.
• Strong understanding of modular building systems, unit craning, utility coordination, and finish work.
• Experience managing job sites with multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Working knowledge of California building codes and inspection procedures.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, installation manuals, and site plans.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to travel to project sites across Northern California as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DSA (Division of the State Architect) or OSHPD-compliant modular projects.
• Experience in educational, government, or commercial construction sectors.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
