OVERVIEW:

  • This is a full-time on-site role for an MHC/Multifamily Property Manager. The Property Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of an MHC and Multifamily residential properties. They will ensure that the properties are operating efficiently and effectively, while maintaining a high level of customer service for residents. This position requires strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of property management practices, and the ability to effectively manage tenant relations. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal administrative tasks, property leasing, and customer service, along with a solid grasp of Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant law

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow team members
  • Manage resident retention and service request follow-up
  • Monitor the timely receipt and reconciliation of rent collections and ensure landlord/resident statutes are followed
  • Produce weekly reports for management
  • Maintain a rental registry where required
  • Application processing, lease renewal
  • Direct efforts to implement sales and marketing plans, which effectively maximize rental income and budgeted occupancy
  • Effectively maintain product knowledge of the community and competitive communities through consistent evaluation of market conditions and trends.
  • Monitor service request turnaround and ensure the responsiveness of the maintenance staff
  • Oversee lease renewals, including planning, timing, and market price levels.
  • Perform apartment inspections monthly, as well as prior to move-in and at move-out
  • Manage property risk effectively by communicating incidents and potential liabilities
  • Move-in, move-out inspections, property walk-through
  • Assign turnover work to staff/ vendors
  • Inspect work completed by vendors / staff
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls when required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in property management, preferably in a multifamily or manufactured home community
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with residents and staff in a positive and professional manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Teamwork minded
  • Proficiency with property management software and tools, such as AppFolio, Yardi, Rent Manager, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of fair housing laws and regulations
  • Ability to follow and enforce property policies and procedures
  • Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related field is preferred, but not required
  • Driver's License and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage
  • Requirement to pass a background check and drug testing
