Job Description Job Summary The Thermodynamic HVAC Engineer is part of the Thermal Management team within the Engineering and R&D Department, preferably based in Columbus OH (Westerville, OH). The position reports to an Engineering Manager, and the research and development scope is on global products supporting Chilled Water Systems product line. Responsibilities: Manage the development of new R&D products in the data center cooling sector for high profile and well known global datacenter customers Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high performance, cost effective design and market-leading innovation. Lead the design of new products or re-engineer existing ones, collaborating with Marketing, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the customer's needs Approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material) Meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs Analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering 3-5 years of previous working experience on similar projects, ideally in the HVAC sector with particularly competence on liquid chillers design Excellent knowledge of thermodynamic and refrigeration principles English - Intermediate level - written and spoken High level of motivation combined with leadership abilities Competences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible Available to travel if needed The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
