Job Description

Are you an HR Director who is looking to take on an exciting new role within a highly reputable General Contractor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

This role involves strategic planning, policy development, and ensuring alignment of HR initiatives with overall business goals. The ideal candidate will have experience with Onboarding, Offboarding, Recruitment, Compliance and reporting, Payroll, and Complaints and Discipline. Experience in a similar role for a Construction General Contractor preferred.

This person will also be involved in coming up with initiatives such as opportunities for growth and improvement for the team. This person should be someone with higher level strategy (director level vision) and will be responsible for employee training related to HR.

Some administrative duties – engaged with team and committee, putting together news letters, memos, updates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing HR strategies and policies that support the organization's objectives.
  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Overseeing the recruitment process, from sourcing candidates to onboarding new employees.
  • Performance Management: Implementing performance management systems to evaluate employee performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Employee Relations: Managing employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Training and Development: Developing and implementing training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Managing compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
  • Compliance: Ensuring the organization complies with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Tracking and analyzing HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Working with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business goals.
  • Employee Counseling: Providing guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters.

Skills Required:

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Executive level communication required.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and solve complex HR issues.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make sound and timely decisions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive and neutral relationships with employees and management.
  • Knowledge of HR Practices: Thorough understanding of HR principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Employment Laws: Strong understanding of relevant employment laws and regulations.

Experience in a similar role for a Construction General Contractor preferred.
