Field Service Technician (Fitness Equipment)
Location: Charleston, SC (Routine travel of 50+ miles)
Pay: $22–$24 / hr.
Schedule: 5-day work week

What you’ll do
• Be the face of the company in the customer’s eyes
• Diagnose and repair all types of equipment, such as treadmills, ellipticals, stepmills, bikes, selectorized weight systems, and Many More.
• Perform preventive maintenance visits and occasional new-equipment installs.
• Use our mobile app to manage work orders, notes, parts, and photos.
• Order/return parts and close out tickets on time.
• Communicate ETAs and findings with office staff and customers.
• Determine the correct next steps for the customer and the equipment

Must-haves
• 1+ year mechanical and/or electrical experience (Automotive, HVAC, Appliance Repair, have transferable skills, but all mechanically inclined individuals are welcome.)
• Comfortable reading exploded diagrams and basic schematics.
• Solid customer communication (you’ll speak with managers and staff on site).
• Reliable smartphone/internet for apps and updates.
• Valid driver’s license and daily driving in a company vehicle.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tickets per day.
Nice-to-haves
• Fitness equipment service experience.
• Basic understanding or experience with a multimeter
• Low-voltage troubleshooting.
• Experience with field-service software.
Physical realities
• Regular moving of equipment up to 50–75 lbs.
• Consistently positioning on or near the floor to service equipment
• Consistently moving about inside customer locations to access, diagnose, and fix fitness equipment
• Testing and utilizing all types of fitness equipment
• Able to safely use a ladder, as needed
Your first 90 days (what success looks like)
• Your first 90 days are your probationary period, and a majority of it will be spent working one-on-one with your trainer.
• 30 days: Under the supervision of your trainer, you will: complete simple preventive maintenance, perform minor diagnostics and repairs, and complete work orders.
• 60 days: Partially under the supervision of your trainer and partially on your own, you will: complete complex preventive maintenance, perform major diagnostics and repairs, communicate with manufacturers, order parts, and complete all work orders.
• 90 days: You will transition to having your own daily route, completing all tasks assigned, and ensuring a correct and complete resolution to all work.
