Engineering Technician – CAD

Location: Overland Park, KS (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote/week)

Pay Rate: $25.95/hr

Contract Length: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Start Date: ASAP

Position Overview:

We’re looking for entry-level Engineering Technicians with CAD experience to join a fast-paced, collaborative team working on electrical drawings for major infrastructure projects. This is a hybrid role based in Overland Park, KS — ideal for recent grads or junior professionals looking to build their technical drafting skills in a professional setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and modify electrical drawings, including layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Work under the guidance of senior engineers and designers to ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.
• Support engineering standards by maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with company procedures.
• Use CAD software to assist in producing technical deliverables based on varied design inputs.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and maintain personal accuracy.
• Learn and apply document control and quality management systems.
• Stay aligned with client expectations and support project teams in achieving deliverables on schedule.

• AutoCAD (all versions)
• AutoCAD Electrical
• Inventor
• Revit
• MicroStation

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Certificate in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred.
• Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
• No previous engineering work experience required.
• Must have working knowledge of Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software.
• Experience or familiarity with electrical drawings is highly desirable.
• Experience with Bluebeam (preferred)

Ideal Candidate:

• Familiar with CAD software beyond surface-level use (hands-on experience is key).
• Understands the drafting process and can interpret technical input to generate quality deliverables.
• Detail-oriented, eager to learn, and open to feedback.
• Able to work onsite 3 days a week and located within 50 miles of a BV office.
