Job Summary

The Machinist/CNC Programmer is responsible for programming and operating CNC milling machines while ensuring high-quality production standards. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, and optimizing machining processes. The position also includes maintaining equipment, managing tool inventories, and training operators, all while upholding safety and cleanliness in the workspace.

Hours

Monday – Thursday: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Responsibilities

• Programs NC machines in CAM Software
• Programs, Operates and maintains 3 axis milling machines.
• Program 5 Axis extrusion milling machines.
• Reviews drawings, instructions, and blueprints to ensure accurate production.
• Reviews, selects correct tooling for cutting parts, materials and features.
• Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
• Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
• Maintains inventory of tools, supplies and coordinated repairs.
• Assist in design and creation of fixtures and work holding jigs.
• Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
• Identifies need for machine maintenance and can perform daily upkeep of equipment.
• Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
• Trains and operators how to set up and run machine

Requirements:

• Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
• Proficient in programing machines in CAM software(s)
• Familiarity with CAD Software(s)
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Proficient in math
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks

Education & Experience:

• High school degree or equivalent
• Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
• Working knowledge of safety protocols
• Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
