Job Description

American Welding and Gas, THOROUGHBRED DIVISION, has an immediate opening for a Class A Delivery Driver at our Knoxville, TN location. This position is responsible for loading, unloading, moving, and storing of gas and liquid cylinders and other hard goods supplies; making deliveries to customers or other branches, and filling out delivery tickets completely and accurately.

**Out of town routes, requiring 3-4 overnight stays per week. Hotel provided. Home on the weekends. Evening meal per diem provided**

Delivery Driver - Class A Duties:

• Use the company vehicle to deliver products and equipment to customers in a safe and courteous manner
• Pick up returns at the customer's place of business
• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
• Comply with all DOT+OSHA Regulations
• Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently
• Ensures appropriate preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork, including but not limited to shipping papers and delivery tickets
• Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Class A CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrakes endorsement
• Clean driving record 3+ years
• Able to read and write English
• Successful completion of DOT pre-employment drug-screen and physical, and company-administered road test
• Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders
• Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.)
• Must be comfortable using computers
• Ability to communicate with customers
