Job Description

Position Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the sourcing and acquisition of goods and services to support operational needs. This role involves evaluating supplier options, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of quality products and services. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build effective vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, supplies, and services across various categories.
  • Review purchase requisitions and ensure accuracy and completeness of specifications.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain product details, pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate and select products through inspection, testing, or research.
  • Expedite orders and resolve delays to meet operational deadlines.
  • Estimate costs based on market trends and historical data.
  • Determine appropriate procurement methods, including direct purchases and competitive bidding.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, bid requests, and related documentation.
  • Analyze bid proposals and negotiate terms within budgetary and authority limits.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including pricing, delivery performance, product quality, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues with defective or non-compliant goods or services.
  • Stay informed on market developments, supplier innovations, and changes in procurement practices.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers or suppliers to develop custom products based on specific requirements.
  • Approve invoices for payment and ensure timely delivery of goods to end users.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract management, and vendor evaluation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
