Asphalt Paving Equipment Operator – Road Construction Crew

Location: Albemarle, NC (Travel Required | Onsite)

What You’ll Do:

As an Asphalt Paving Equipment Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining paving machines and related heavy equipment. You’ll work as part of a skilled crew to lay asphalt with precision, ensuring correct depth, grade, and finish while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Operate asphalt pavers and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Set and adjust controls for proper depth, slope, and material flow
• Collaborate with the paving crew to lay asphalt and assist in other tasks as needed
• Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
• Identify and report mechanical issues or repair needs
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Remain aware of surroundings, equipment, and crew members at all times
• Be available for nights, weekends, overtime , and overnight travel as needed

What We’re Looking For:

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of paving equipment experience (road, highway, or bridge construction preferred)
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and safety procedures
• Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Physically able to lift 50–90 lbs and work outdoors in all weather
• Flexible with travel, changing job sites, and schedules
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Reliable transportation to the Albemarle office or job sites
• Willingness to assist with manual labor when needed

Preferred:

• Valid driver’s license
• Class B CDL (or willingness to obtain Class A)
• Experience with automated controls on paving equipment
