Position Type: Skilled, Experienced

Pay: $24–$35, depending on experience

A day in the hangar

From your first day, you’ll work at a Mechanic II level on aircraft piston powerplants—moving confidently from teardown and inspection to precise assembly and live testing. You’ll apply exact torque specs, the right sealants and adhesives, and precision measuring tools to bring engines to life—and diagnose issues fast when troubleshooting is needed.

What you’ll handle

• Hands-on disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of aircraft piston engines and related mechanical equipment
• Application of torque specifications , sealants and adhesives , and precision measuring tools
• Engine operation and troubleshooting to verify performance and resolve issues
• Ownership of at least one core build area, contributing as a subject-matter go-to

Ready from day one

This is a skilled role requiring minimal ramp-up. We’re seeking a contributor who can integrate into existing workflows immediately and work independently when needed.

Preferred qualifications

• 2+ years building aircraft piston engines
• FAA certifications: A , P , Repairman Certificate , or A&P (highly desired, not required)
• Or 5+ years of industry experience with piston engines in lieu of certification

Ideal background

• Solid experience in piston engine mechanics
• May hold A&P and IA (not mandatory)
• Works autonomously and meshes quickly with established processes
